She Says: Blogger’s First Z-Bar

Yep, it’s true. I had the Honey Graham and it was great. Perfect for my pre-run snack needs. Lovely chewy consistency, tasty and the fake “frosting,” which I hate in a bar was an incidental and can easily be scarped off.

Ketchup update. I dunked these Lundberg Sesame and Seaweed Rice Chips in the ketchup I made the other day. First, these chips are fantastic. V. hearty and not too salty. As the bag states, they are a Crunch Sensation. Second,  is a very good condiment to have on hand.

Query: Why must Eva Longoria continue to call herself fat? Such name calling can’t be good for the non-celebrity woman.

Speaking of the good of women, Leslie at The Weighting Game posted an interesting question today about the relationship between eating disorders and food blogs. The post and the comments are evolving into a great discussion, so if you get a chance read it and add your two cents.

  9. Christie Says:

I think my fav part of the zbars is the consitency… thats why it is so good with yogurt and prob even better heated with PB.. ok i need to stop. have a good night!

  10. Melissa S. Says:

glad you liked the zbar! their flavors freak’n rock!

and i read the post on the weighting game…i think the author might have a bit of a point, but that she has made an over assumption about food bloggers, because as there may be a few people out there using their blogs in a bad way, there are far more people using it in a good way for healthy eating, sharing recipes and making new friends!

Thanks for the interesting article about the ads. I think it is important to think critically about information presented from any side of an argument. I guess that is the lawyer in me. These ads are certinaly getting people thinking.

Thanks for the Weighting Game link. I disagree with some of the author’s conclusions, but I’d been thinking about this issue quite a bit recently, so I really enjoyed reading the discussion.

I was just el ed, but I wish I would have taken the extra 2 classes! I was living down at the shore and commuting up to caldwell so it was just too much back then and now I’m kicking myself for not doing it.

Thanks for leading me to that discussion. I thought it was an interesting discussion and I put in my two cents.

And for the homemade tomato sauce, it is kind of a dump thing that I do by taste. Lots of stewed tomatoes, peppers, onions, mushroom, garlic and spices.

I love zBars! We buy them in a big bulk box of PB, Choc Chip, and Choc Brownie- Choc Chip is my favorite. I eat them as pre-workout snacks or afternoon snacks (errr- anytime snacks). I love that a bar that is for “kids” is so popular among adults.

The Eva Longoria article is so messed up- why must the media and celebrities continue to send such a mixed-up message to the public??

  16. WeightingGame Says:

thanks for the mention, Hangry :-) I am loving the discussion…

  17. eatingbender Says:

I’m so glad you tried a ZBaR!!! Hoo-rah!

But why “eww” blueberry?! Blueberry just wants to be eaten like everyone else ;) Oh, and brownie too – that’s my personal fave!

That Eva article just makes me sad. I’m about to go check out Leslie’s post now – argh, so behind on the times!
