She Says: 12.5 Hours on My Bum
Do you think that constitutes a “rest day?”
I started the day in New Jersey with my coffee and 1/2 Peanut Butter sandwich.
In New York I started drinking my smoothie. In Connecticut I had a banana and finished my smoothie.
I met my sister Nadine at her house and she drove to Massachusetts, home of my favorite highway symbol, the pilgrim hat.
Before the recital we stopped at a rest stop and I purchased one of my all time favorite bars, Odwalla Super Protein.
After 4.5 hours on my bum we finally watched the dancers with my mom, dad and other sister Nicole. Three more hours on my bum!
Hannah was excellent!
At Nicole’s house we had a late lunch. I had strawberries, chips, salsa and guacamole and spinach calzone. There were more chips, 1 more spinach calzone wedge and a diet pepsi, too.
Nicole also made her delicious cranberry oatmeal cookies. So wonderful!
At 4:00 Nadine and I hit the road again. We drove back through Massachusetts and stopped for tea on the way. I had Bombay Chai from Mighty Leaf with milk and honey and it definitely hit the spot!
I said bye to Nadine in Connecticut and drove the rest of the way myself. Another 5 hours in the car, one sunset and one phone call later (always use a headset!) and I was back in New Jersey.

It was about 8:30 and I was a little hungry, so I had a Sunshine Burger with yogurt and Hanger Management Muesli.
Then my sweet tooth kicked in and I had a mixed bowl of Strawberry and Blueberry Frosted Mini Wheats.
Definitely sweet! The strawberry tasted like cotton candy, but I preferred the blueberry better. I think blueberry lends itself better to fake, neon colored cereals.
So, that was my day. It was long, but fun and restful. I think I can say I adequately rested my legs and am ready to run tomorrow!
Hope you had a great weekend!

Definitely a rest day! Haha. It’s okay, I’ve been on weeks of rest days because of finals and I’m damn tired of rest days!
Those frosted mini wheats look so suspicious when they’re colored like that, as if they might be moldy. I wonder if the flavoring is at least natural? How do you fake blueberry/strawberry flavors, I wonder. :\

I bought the blueberry mini wheats with a coupon. They’re decent, but the cinnamon kind is much better.
