She Says: 6 Pushups!

For a couple of months I’ve been doing my Shred video and trying to get stronger. Pushups are an accomplishment that have always alluded me, but recently I learned I can do things I never thought I could do. I’ve been practicing my pushups – before bed, during commercials, etc. After first I couldn’t do any at all. Then I did 2. Then 3. I was stuck on 4 for awhile and last week did 5. Last night before I went to bed I did 6! To someone else, this might seem lame, but it’s an accomplishment for me and I like to celebrate the little things!

This morning I wasn’t that hungry for breakfast, a sign that I had a few too many Blue Corn Chips too close to bed time! I waited a bit, but then had to have something because I had to make it to Girls on the Run practice.

I chose some yogurt, blackberries, strawberries, bananas and flax. The blackberries were so sweet and delicious. Perfect!

Today’s GOTR is my favorite practice because it’s all about body image and self-acceptance, two of my favorite topics to talk about with anyone of any age! Have a wonderful day!

Your GOTR practice sounds like it’ll be awesome today! Awesome job with the pushups, I’ve been trying to do them more often but it’s hard to get motivated, I like the idea of doing them between commercials, etc.

My GOTR 5K is this weekend. For their community service project, last week they came over to my house and made dinner for a family that needed help. My group is only 7 girls, but 7 girls inside trying to cook was a little nuts. I had such a big headache when it was over!

  18. Erin Says:

Oh my god, great job! Yeah, can you believe that Level 1 of has a million push ups!? I’m like this is level 1?!?!?!

  19. Emily Says:

6 push-ups rocks! way to improve the strength!

woo-hoo! way to go heather! I can’t even do one! haha!

  21. Melissa @ For the Love of Health Says:

Congratulations on the pushups!! I know exactly what you are talking about!! I have been running for years and years and last September I did a fitness test at the gym and it was seriously embarassing. I couldn’t do a single pushup, among other things. Since then, I’ve strength trained on my own and see a trainer and I can do pushups now too! I feel amazing about it too!

    Have a fabulous evening!

  22. Julie Says:

  23. TorontoGirloutWest Says:

  25. Marianne Says:

Congrats on the push ups accomplishment! Now I need to see how many I can do – I have no clue! I’m sure it’s not 6 though!

  26. Tristan Says:

That’s cool, this morning I progressed to 6 too! They are very hard… and I like to make mine harder by doing 3 second ones.
