She Says: Cupcake Taste Test Part I
I spent today in cupcake heaven!!!!! Oh how sweet life would be if I made cupcakes all day long everyday!
I was a baker with a mission. I made three types of cupcakes for my Sister in Law Megan to taste test for her upcoming baby shower. I literally started baking at 12:30 and was just frosting them at around 6:30 when Megan and my brother reported for taste test duty. Six hours of cupcake baking is perfect!
Here’s the rundown of each flavor and some pictures of the cupcakes before frosting.
Cupcake 1: Lemon
The lemon was fun to make because I poked holes in each one and glazed them with a lemon syrup.

The lemon slices from the syrup will adorn the frosted cupcakes.
Cupcake 2: Vanilla
A classic vanilla cupcake.
Cupcake 3: Banana
The batter for these was actually beautiful! It was a creamy off white with cinnamon speckles and banana mashings. I refer to the finish product as, “My cutie banana cupcakes.” They smelled amazing as well.
Here are all three varieties cooling and just dying to be frosted! Top to bottom – lemon, banana and vanilla.
I had a little mishap turned delicious creation with the frosting, but I’ll tell ya about that in Part II! All the extra cupcakes not consumed during the taste test will be dessert for tomorrow’s birthday and Father’s Day Festivities!

My dad is the best and I am not just saying that because he makes awesome Hangry Pants videos about chips and French Press coffee! He always draws me maps so I don’t get lost when driving, gets my oil changed and has willingly moved me and my other siblings to and from college up and down the north east coast for over 20 years. Thanks dad!

i used to beg for a lemon birthday cake every year when i was growing up — probably still my favorite cake/cupcake flavor (in direct competition with pumpmkin!), especially when there is glaze involved! looks delicious.
Cupcakes are the happiest little dessert ever! Who doesn’t love a mini personal cake? They are so quick to make, too, which is perfect for my borderline ADD self!
I can’t wait to hear about the frosting!

Mmmm, cupcakes. I was baking some cupcakes this weeekend as well, but mine were chocolate. Lemon or vanilla would defnitely be my choice out of the three
