She Says: Movie, Baking, Tomato Eating
Last night a few girl friends came over for Movie & Baking Night. We watched He’s Just Not That Into You, which I thought was cute and consumed lots of things I will not be eating once Monday rolls around.
For example, vast quantities of piping hot ooey gooey Monkey Bread. I am pretty sure it was the opposite of Cleaner Living, but boy was it good!
I tried to take a slightly more healthy route with my sweet contribution – No Bake Cookies.
I will be honest and say I didn’t really measure anything as I was tossing things in, but I can tell you approximates and ingredients. I guess I will just have to make them again to get specifics.
-
1/2 C Milk brought to a boil.
-
Added a few squarts of agave (I would say I used 1 or 2 T max)
-
Turn off the heat and add 1/4 C cocoa powder, 1/2 C Peanut Butter, 1.5 C Rolled Oats
-
Mix everything together, form into balls and let cool on a cookie sheet for about 20-30 minutes.
They were super delicious! I loved traditional No Bake Cookies when I was little and these are just as good without any added sugar or butter. I will admit, however, that I had a Secret Weapon.
Thank you PB Loco for sending me this delicious treat! I feel a special bond with the people from PB Loco who, like me, ditched the law for something much more fun. In their case, it was opening a peanut butter restaurant! They have so many original flavors, like Peanut Butter with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter with Asian Curry Spice. The Peanut Butter with Jungle Banana combines two pieces of perfection in one jar – bananas and peanut butter. Hello! I eat that separately pretty much everyday!!!!! It’s pretty sweet, so watch out for that if your used to more natural peanut butter, but overall it has a rich banana flavor and a nice smooth consistency. It was excellent in the cookies and gave them an extra layer of flavor and sweetness.
This morning was the last practice for Girls on the Run before their big 5K next weekend. We had a celebration with awards, bagels, fruit, donuts, etc. I really loved my Girls on the Run experience and I can’t wait to do it again in the fall. Everyone should definitely check to see if there is one in your area!
After GOTR, I went to the gym and did 45 minutes of ellipticizing then headed to Trader Joe’s. I am going to share what I bought in another post. For now, let me just show you one of my favorite things.
Wheat bread, hummus, tomato and garlic powder. It’s super simple, but wonderfully delicious. In the summer when garden tomatoes are ripe there is nothing better than cutting one up and dousing it in garlic powder and a little salt. Yum!
After this (I had two), I did a Dave Farm yoga podcast and then took a shower to get ready for a Graduation Party that Mark and I are heading to right now.
Have a great night! See ya tomorrow.
P.S. When I show the TJs groceries I am going to answer more questions about The Cleaner Life Month, including the big one – what are processed foods?!?!
P.P.S. Mark just emerged from the bathroom with a Mohawk. Pictures to follow!

Monkey bread makes me think of my cousin because I remember my aunt buying it for him when I was visiting them in the US last summer. Haha, it’s such a cute name.

You no bake cookies sound great as well – but really, how could they not when they have chocolate & peanut butter in them?
