She Says: My Makeup Philosophy

Blogging can certainly do wonders for the ego. Thank you for all the birthday wishes and compliments on my makeupless picture.  I guess I should admit that I actually don’t wear makeup on a daily basis anyway. Well, everyday I wear mascara and moisturizer/SPF, but only on special occasions do I bust out the makeup. My philosophy is that if I only wear makeup occasionally, people will really appreciate my extra effort on the days I do wear makeup. It makes life much more simple. :D

I must say I had a wonderful birthday! Nothing excites me as much as intense weather and here in New Jersey we had it all. There was sun, dark clouds, intense rain and then back to sun. Lovely.

I also noticed my tomatoes are coming along nicely.

I can’t wait until they are red!

Before I took Bethany home we stopped at Starbucks. When I ordered why Iced Chai Tea I specifically asked if it was going to be sweetened or contain syrup. The barista said no. I could have sworn that she said it would contain a chai tea bag, but based on the taste, she definitely said chai powder, cause this stuff was sweeeeet. Minus one for the Cleaner Life Month.

After dropping Bethany off I came home for lunch and then hit the gym for some ellipticizing and TV watching. I did 50 minutes and then came home and super stretched. Bethany and I went to yoga yesterday and my arms were killing me!

For dinner, Mark and I went to a wonderful restaurant called Farm 2 Bistro. I want to save my description for a separate post where I can devote time and attention to it.

After, we walked around a bit and it started drizzling. I knew just what I wanted for a birthday treat … a gigantic cup of Peanut Butter and Banana Swirl Soft Serve Yogurt with Cookie Dough Balls. Minus a million for the Cleaner Life Month.

It was creamy and delicious and I am sure filled with chemicals galore.

Glad you had a good birthday! That ice cream/COOKIE DOUGH looks like heaven in a bowl.

And I agree on the makeup thing…I do wear it everyday, but don’t spend that much time at all. And it’s one advantage of working with people you’re not attracted to. :-)

  15. katherine Says:

Aww How I Met Your Mother is one of my favorite shows and I LOVE watching it on DVD so I can watch episodes back to back to back to back ;-)

    Have a great day!!

  16. Becci Says:

That frozen yogurt looks amazing! There isn’t anywhere around here that sells frozen yogurt…maybe that is a good thing for me!

  17. Melissa (fitnessnyc) Says:

your skin is amazing. yum dessert looks delish, I get a little too excited around places like yogurtland!

  18. Ilana Says:

Starbucks makes their chai tea everything, with the exception of actual hot chai tea itself, with a premade chai mixture from a box. It sucks, because chai iced tea is really good!!

  19. suzanne Says:

The way i have unsweetened iced tea is to ask for the largest tea with a bag and have them fill it and third full of hot water and then ask for them to fill it to the top with ice. I work in a coffee shop and am happy to do this anytime anyone wants it. You can then add milk or sweetner that you want.

  20. carolinebee Says:

Happy Bday Heathaaaa!!!! I’m pretty sure you said the one day exception of the CLM was your b-day riiight?

  21. Danielle C. Says:

yum! Whoever came up with the idea of little cookie dough balls for a topping is surely brilliant.

    Happy Belated Birthday!!!

  22. Sagan Says:

    Best birthday treat EVER.

I’m a lip balm, mascara, and moisturizer girl.

  23. Kelly Says:

I am 99% sure starbucks uses a chai concentrate for their lattes that comes presweetened. I love that you do not wear much makeup. I find the older I get the more I like looking natural.

  24. Jess Says:

That yogurt sounds amazing! You don’t need to worry about eating clean on your birthday. I love HIMYM.

  25. Marianne Says:

Life is too short to worry about one fro-yo on your birthday. Eat it & enjoy it! Looks pretty damn tasty.

I’m not really a make up wearer every day either, because I generally don’t have the time in the morning to get it done. Not even mascara! But I must say, I look awfully pale without anything on.
