She Says: Bugging Out
I woke up this morning at 6:30 ready to go for a run. I emerged from my nice cold room to the hot hallway and heard bzzzzzzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. You know the sound of those heat bugs! Oh no no no. I was not running to that tune! I was already feeling lazy and that put me over the edge. I don’t know what it is. I must just be exhausted from the weekend because I am a big bump on a big log.
I won’t even lie. I did relatively nothing all morning. I’d made a TO DO List, but the only think crossed off was “brush teeth,” and that was only because I added it after I did it so I would have something to cross off.
There were lots of things I should do, but I didn’t wanna. And it was hot. So, I did what I wanted and returned something to Century 21. When I walked in I happened to be in the exercise clothes area!!! It was fate. I’d wanted some new running clothes and all the cute skirts at the Summit put me over the edge.
So, I got one! Thank you Elobel (pronounced Ellabel) for helping with my complicated exchange.
It even has a pocket, so I don’t have to stick my Sharkies in my bra anymore! I am looking forward to my run after the bugs go in for the night!
I also stopped at Trader Joe’s and, for the first time, really paid attention to all that hummus! I usually get the Quarter, which has Garlic, Plain, Pasley & Chive (favorite) and Roasted Red Pepper. I really like it, but it goes bad before I can eat it all. I contemplated my choices, tweeted for advice and eventually chose the Plain without Tahini and Roasted Garlic. They don’t have the Parsley & Chive in an individual container.
I also got more agave.
“People love to carbo load.” G.O.B.
I put the dough and the sprouted bread in the freezer, the tortillas in the fridge and left the other bread out. Mark eats a LOT of peanut butter sandwiches.
I also bought a bunch of these pre-seasoned packs. I like the Multigrain Pilaf and they’re good for Mark because he eats a whole pouch with extra veggies for dinner sometimes.
And on any Trader Joe’s trip I always get one fun item, which is usually something new to try. Today I chose these Mini Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers. I am sure they are yummy.
When I got home I immediately put on my skirt. Hey, it’s a step in the running direction.
Speaking of running …
Check out Sarah, who also loves the running skirt, in this month’s Women’s Running. So cool!!!
And finally, Happy Birthday Billy. My little brother is getting so big!!!!!!

I LOVE my running skirt and am sure you will too!!
I have that same notepad
Target love!
Speaking of Target, that is where I got my running skirt. It’s not as cool as yours, but it will do until I can get something shinier
the TJ finds look awesome girl! yay for new stuff
i’m thinking i should get a running skirt. could be good! hmm i wonder if Dick’s sporting goods would have a nice selection! pondering. haha
I love the skirt, HUMMUS! and Sarah. How awesome.
It looks like you got a lot of good stuff from TJ’s and it’s making me jealous!
I saw some running skirts at Target and contemplated getting one.
TJ’s mediterranean hummus is where’s is at! (But the others are good too)
ha, and thank you so much for the shout-out, although the angle of the page the way you posted it makes my butt look GINORMOUS!!
i’m going to post an actual scan tomorrow!
Lee: I don’t think I saw that one, but I will keep it in mind.
Sarah: I was just really excited.
And hey, at least I cropped out your last name.
Everyone: Sarah has a nicely shaped and sized butt.
YAY! You got a running shirt! I hope you love it! Good stuff from TJ’s, I gotta try those rices, I didn’t see them when I went on Sunday. YAY for Sarah in Woman’s Running!
I love all your TJ’s goodies! TJ’s is the best! I’ve never seen those hummus flavors at our store, but I do love those pb crackers. Nice running skirt!

Crap, I knew I forgot to do something. Off to brush.
OMG Sarah!! how fun!!
also, yay for running skirts. As soon as I drop a few more I am totally going to get one.
I cannot go into TJ’s anymore with my husband because I spend too much money in there…ahhaha
I have a random question about the hummus. The tub says serving size: 2 tablespoons. Servings per container: 8. Am I the only one that does not get 8 servings from the container!?! I eat my hummus by the tablespoon, and I get 6 or 7 tablespoons at best. Anyone?!
Stephanie: I can honestly say that I have never measured out hummus, but I don’t think I get 8 servings out of there. I will try to keep track with one of these tubs, but I share with Mark so it will be unscientific.
I love you. Why? Because you quoted Arrested Development. That totally made my day!
I LOVE TJ’s hummus so much!! I probably only get like 4 servings out of the container, LOL but that’s just me! I think I have the same coffee maker as you, it’s in the background of the agave pic!
I always buy myself one treat at the grocery store too
Happy bee-day lil’ bro!
Cute running skirt, and fun TJ’s buys! John and I fully enjoyed a pizza made with TJ’s garlic and herb pizza dough the other night – soooo good. The pb sandwich crackers look great; I bet they’re addicting
Happy Birthday Billy!
aww, thank you
you are awesome!
Cute exercise clothes always motivate me to workout! I’ve never heard of a running skirt but it looks super cute.
Loving the skirt and all the TJ’s goods!
It’s so weird to see the different products different TJ’s sell! I’ve never seen that plain hummus, those tortillas, the country bread, OR that lentil rice packet at a west coast Trader’s! Lovin’ the running skirt!! Hope you got out on your run!
i LOVE your to-do list. sometimes, I add stuff like that just so I can cross stuff off, too
Hey Heather!
We did have an awesome time at the summit! The swag bags were awesome – thanks so much for getting all those companies to donate all those various goodies! BARNEY BUTTER ROCKS! : )
Ha! I always add things to my to do lists so I can cross them off. Nothing wrong with that!
Very cute running skirt! I love them.
Ha, I totally put things like “shower” on my to do list so I feel like I accomplished something!
I like TJ’s Microwaved Pilaf, too. I think it’s a little too much fiber/protein for me to handle to have the whole pouch at one meal, though. haha
Evan: Based on the arm-sized burrito mark ate last night, i think he can take it.
I need to get to TJ’s, all your food sounds so great! I am overwhelmed by the crowds though. Love the running skirt! I tried on a Nike one on sale at City Sports but hated how it looked on me, I should go to Century one morning before work when it is not packed!
I saw those little PB sammies the other day! And thought about getting them. I kind of wish now that I did more then think about it..
It was so nice meeting you and your sister this weekend! You are so down to earth…not sure what those other people you spoke of yesterday were talking about!! Those tortillas and pizza dough are a TJs staple for me.
Cute! I have been wanting a running skirt! I like that one!
Can’t go wrong with TJs hummus! My favs are roasted red pepper, sundried tomato, and the triple layer one (roasted red pepper, plain, cilantro). Also I got this AMAZING spicy peanut dressing there yesterday that I have never seen before. Half of the bottle is gone, I am literally eating salad for dessert
Love the skirt!!
You cracked me up with that brushing teeth comment. That was too much! I get those lazy days, too when all I want to do is do nothing. You are human – you are allowed to feel that way. Loved your TJ’s grocery pick-up. The Multigrain Pilaf is awesome; I mix it into my salads with some avocado and pretend it’s Mexican.
Half the fun of to do lists is crossing things off, even if it’s something like brushing your teeth…no shame!
Haha, your to-do lists looks like one of mine–I always include “wake up” just so I have something to cross off!
Let me know how you like that running skirt–I’ve never tried one and they seem like a great idea!
I love my running skirt (I got it at Target!). I hope you enjoy yours!
I saw those little crackers at TJ’s last week and I was so close to getting them! I wonder if they taste like the little Ritz crackers that I have boycotted ever since I overdosed in elementary lunches ha!
Hahah I totally add things to my to-do list that I’ve already done just to have something to cross off!! Love your new running skirt its so cute, I must get one. Well I need to get a new one…I bought one at City Sports and the shorts underneath ride up like no ones business! I need to make a TJ’s run badly!
HI Heth! Do I see my name on that list?!?!?! I don’t think you know any other Bethany’s. Hmmmmmmm…
Also, I had my first Bumble Bar the other day and LOVED IT! So many grains and seeds and fabulous flavors and textures! I will definitely be buying this on a regular basis. I had the cherry chocolate and was in heaven!
It’s official! I’m gonna have to stop at Target tonight and get a running skirt.
cupcake paper? what kind of torture is that?! hehe
this is my first time to your blog
i am looking forward to reading more of it
have a great day
oooo the running skirt looks so cute! Happy bday to your bro- he shares a great birthday!!!
So I’m a little late on the hummus suggestions, but have you tried their Horseradish flavor? If you like horseradish, you’ll love it!! It’s delish.
As for hummus serving sizes, I’m ridiculous and get 2-3 servings out of those TJ’s containers. Granted, I usually eat it as a meal, but still. The bf gets mad because they “cheat” and have that raised center so it looks like you get a whole lot more than you really do. Haha.
i have those notepads! so cute c:
Why don’t you buy Sabra hummus? It has natural preservatives and it tastes waaay better than anything else on the market.
