She Says: Food, Inc. Giveaway
Maybe you remember when I saw Food, Inc. back in June. It changed a lot about the way I buy food and what I eat. For example, I call myself a vegetarian, but shortly after seeing the movie, I actually ate meat for the first time in probably a year. The reason I ate meat was because I knew the source; a local farm with organic meat. Since then, I haven’t eaten meat, and I probably won’t any time soon. It was the lessons I learned about the meat industry that had me craving some local, clean poultry. Also, I only purchase organic milk and dairy. It’s important to me and worth the cost.
A company I adore, Stonyfield Farm, is featured in the movie as an example of the good that organics can do, (even when they’re sold at WalMart – the more yogurt that’s sold at Walmart, the larger the amount of acres that are spared of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, etc). The movie is coming out on DVD soon, and in celebration, Stonyfield has offered to give one Hangry Pants reader five coupons for free (organic) Oikos and a copy of the book.
There are two ways to enter the contest:
(1) Leave a comment here telling me why you are interested in the book; and
(2) Join Stonyfield on Facebook at facebook.com/StonyfieldFarm and leave a second comment telling me you did so.
Contest ends Monday Saturday at noon EST. Good luck!

After hearing everyone talk about the book so much, of course I want to read it. The food industry is so complex and mysterious–I’d love to know more about it. Thank you for this giveaway!
I also became of fan of Stonybrook on facebook
stonyfield…my bad haha.
I would love, love, love to have a copy of the book. No one around me showed the movie and I’m generally too cheap to rent movies. The book would be perfect for me!
I want to know how I can make little changes that make a difference!
I never got the chance to see the film, but I’d love to read the book as I’m trying to learn more about making healthy choices. I’m more of a book person than a movie person.
And I also became a Facebook fan!
I’m interested in this book because I think everything in this world is full circle. We have to take care of the earth and it will continue to take care of us. Plus-yogurt-yum!
I’m very interested in this book because the movie came to ONE theatre in my city, for ONE weekend, and I missed it. I’m super bummed out that I didn’t get to see it. Health is my passion and Food, Inc. sounds like it’s right up my alley
I haven’t seen the movie yet (It’s on my Netflix waiting list!) but I can’t wait to read the book as well. Knowing where your food is coming from is so important to your health!
The movie never came to my area, so I unfortunately never got to see it. I am really interesting in the story Food Inc. has to tell though!
I need to see where my food comes. it might change my outlook on how i eat.
I have not seen the movie yet but I would love to check out the book. And I am already a fan of Stonyfield on Facebook
I would like to see it/read about it because I have recently decided to not consume animal products anymore (for health reasons) and I would like to learn more about where food comes from and why we should and shouldn’t be eating and supporting certain foods.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I have thought often about switching to a vegetarian diet, but have just not taken enought time to do some research to make sure it is the right decision for me! I think that reading this book would be a great way to do just that!

i would love to read this book because i never got to see the movie, but reading all of the reviews in the blog-world made me so interested! also, im trying to turn my boyfriend on to a vegetarian lifestyle. this book might be the key!
i’m passionate about making changes in my life to help improve the food system. i try to vote with my fork as often as possible and i love to promote a greener lifestyle. this movie speaks from my heart and has been great at helping me explain to my friends and family what it is that i believe in. it does it in a way that i have not been able to before. after seeing the movie, my family has made small changes that i have unsuccessfully suggested to them before. i would love to share this movie with more people.
I have heard so much about the movie, I would love to read the book to see what it is all about.
Over the past year or so, I have completely adapted my lifestyle — I am mostly vegetarian now, while eating meat every once in a while when I know it comes from a good source. I would love to learn more from this book. I’ve heard fabulous reviews, but unfortunately never got a chance to see the movie.
Interested in the book because I just devoured (ha!) Pollan’s two books on the subject and would love to read another like-minded book.
I loved the movie and just decided to become a vegetarian – actually using the label! – based on what I learned from it. I’d love to have the information at arm’s reach!
