She Says: I Would Like to Thank

by Heather Tuesday, October 20, 2009

I love these blog tag/award things. :D Thank you to Sabrina for giving me the Kreativ Blogger Award and the Over the Top Award.

This award requires me to share seven things you do not know about me. Hmmmm, because I’m always talking about myself, this is difficult.

  1. If I have babies some names I am considering are: Logan (after Wolverine) and Cosmo (after my Grandpa). I think they work for girls and boys and I like that.
  2. Did you know my front left tooth is fake? Freak cheerleading incident.
  3. Sabrina knows this already. I like to tell Mark things that are false and pretend they are true. Examples – in R.I. we have salt water pickles, in RI everyone has a wet suit to wear to the beach, in RI it’s a bubbler not a water fountain (oh what that one IS true). Most recently I told Mark that in RI we don’t have U-turns we have “Turn Arounds.” Mark, why do you still believe these things I tell you? Edit: I mean water fountains that you drink from, not the one that you toss coins into and make a wish on.
  4. When I was little I had dance parties in my living room. I choreographed full on dances to Madonna and thought I was on Kids Incorporated.
  5. I brush my teeth in the shower. It’s fun and convenient.
  6. Even though I do not feel old and I do not mind being 29, I am afraid I might feel disappointed with myself when I am 30, especially if I do not have a permanent teaching job. Probably dumb, but that’s my feeling.
  7. I like the Yankees (and yes, I am from Red Sox Nation).

The thing about these is that I never know who to give them too! I think bloggers are awesome, and I can never choose. I will pick three people who have been holding my interest lately. :D

(1) Ali – Food, Fashion, Fitness

(2) Mark – Hangry Pants :D

(3) Heather – Heather Bakes.

And … I emailed Dreyer’s/Edy’s about the Ice Cream/Frozen Dessert. Response:

“Thank you for your email regarding Edy’s Slow Churned Light Pumpkin. We appreciate the time you have taken to pass your comments on to us.

Please be advised that our Slow Churned™ Light Ice Cream packaging that reads 1/2 the fat and 1/3 fewer calories than regular ice cream is a general statement on the product. In order to keep the products uniform that same statement is printed on all of our Slow Churned™ Light Ice Cream flavors. To be specific you may compare the selected flavor to it’s counterpart. By doing this you will see that the difference will be 1/2 the fat 1/3 fewer calories or less.

Please be advised that the change to a Fun Flavor was a Marketing decision. Frozen Dairy Dessert is defined as having more whey and less dairy and there by it does not meet the standard of identity of Ice Cream as set by the FDA back in 1929.

We at Edy’s Ice Cream appreciate your interest in our company and our products. We value our consumers and we thank you for the opportunity to respond to your concerns.”

Fun! That’s cool that Edy’s wrote you back. :)

  2. 2 VeggieGirl says:

Awesome facts/survey about ya! As you saw when you met me, I too am NOT tall ;)

  3. Kids Incorporated was the best! My sister and I watched I think all of the seasons – those with Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas and then later with Jennifer Love Hewitt (or Love as she was called then). Such fun memories :-)

  4. That whole bubbler thing freaked me out when I first heard it. I didn’t grow up in NE but I worked at the Providence place mall while on breaks from college. Someone asked me where the bubbler was and I showed the the fountains we had for decoration in BBB.

  5. 6 Dori says:

HAHA I love the fake things you tell Mark! Hilarious. I’d believe them too. Edy’s answer kinda confuses me!

  6. 7 Melissa S. says:

cool that eddy’s actually wrote a good response back!

    #3 Made me giggle.
#4 I did as well… I still remember some of my moves to “Papa Don’t Preach”
#6 Silly. You have zero reason to be disappointed. You have followed your heart and your dreams and inspired others (me!) to do the same. You are amazing.

  11. 12 Katherine says:

So cool that Edy’s wrote back to you! Love the baby names :)

  12. 13 MarathonVal says:

I don’t know about all of our waterfountains, but the ones in Chicago along the lakefront path we call “bubblers”, too :)

Don’t worry, you will have a fabulous job soon I just know it!! In the meantime, I hope your current school year is going great!

  13. 14 Mama Pea says:

What in the hell does Edy’s have going on over there. Isn’t more whey and less dairy contradictory?

So many things stood out about you, but I love that you are missing Shiloh. I can smell baby powder just thinking about it.

  14. 15 Julia says:

I totally brush my teeth in the shower too. My boyfriend makes fun of me but I think it’s the best possible way to brush teeth.

  15. 16 Heather's Bestie says:

Number 4, 672… My nickname used to be Buvis (after Beavis and Butthead combined).

Why did you cry on Monday?

  16. 17 MelissaNibbles says:

Love the Kids Inc. fact! I used to make up dances and pretend I was on The Mickey Mouse Club!

  17. Woohoo! Congrats on the awards. The one about Mark made me laugh out loud :) And you have no reason to feel disappointed with yourself no matter what happens. You are a successful blogger and teacher and are doing what you love. Plus you are living an incredibly healthy life and inspiring others to do the same. ‘Nuff said!

  18. 19 RhodeyGirl says:

    KIDS INCORPORATED K! I! D! S!

I used to secretly be obsessed with that show, and I choreographed full on dances too! Except we didn’t use Madonna.

LOVE the names Logan and Cosmo. Super cool Heather!

Oh, and Mark? Did you know that in R.I. everyone has walkie talkies to talk to each other since the state is so small? EVERYONE!

  19. 20 brandi says:

that’s so funny that you do that to Mark :)

and I used to love Kids Incorporated! so fun.

  20. 21 Ann-Margaret says:

Kids Incorporated! What a fun memory from childhood. We didn’t have extended cable back in the day so I could only watch it on the Disney Channel “free weekends.” Lame-o!!!!

  21. Oh I definitely spent a few hours back in the day making up dances! Fun times…why do I not do that anymore? Not like I have any shreds of dignity left… :)

  22. 23 Evan Thomas says:

A Yankees fan from Red Sox Nation? Sacrilege!

  23. 24 Quix says:

Very interesting about the ice cream. I like pumpkin spice stuff, but I REALLY love when it’s December and peppermint season!

  24. I’m still confused after the Edy’s response!! But love both the sketchy whey and the slow churned pumpkin flavors…

    GO YANKEES!!!!!

  25. [...] After being the giddiest New Yorker en las calles  yesterday, I came home HANGRY. [...]

  26. 27 Ris says:

  27. 28 elise says:

ooo, i love these awards and learning more about you! what are the chances mark fills this out? mark! fill it out!!!
