Heather Trains

On May 30, 2009, I ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon (recap here). It was my first half marathon and only my second race, but I did it in 1:54:55. :D I loved it and was sad when it was over. I quickly signed up for my second half marathon and am running the Newport Liberty Half Marathon in Jersey City on September 27th.

For the Brooklyn Half Marathon I developed a training schedule based on the  Hal Hidgdon Beginner and Intermediate Half Marathon Training Plans and can be found here: March, April and May. I learned a lot about what worked for me during those three months of  training. For example, I now know I like to do longs runs the day after no cardio. My legs feel rested and I enjoy the run much more. I also learned that I must be flexible and live life without feeling guilty about adjusting my schedule.  I look forward to sharing my training. Feel free to ask any questions!

Goal: Finish faster than last time.
