She Says: Dave’s Killer Bread Giveaway Part II

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday!

I am busy today packing for Boston and doing some last minute things in my classroom before I leave, but I wanted to share something wonderful with you. Perhaps you recall the first  Dave’s Killer Bread Giveaway. Well Dave would like to give 5 of you another chance to try his wonderful bread and this time, he’s giving away Sin Dawgs, the most delicious Organic Whole Grain Cinnamon Roll I’ve ever had.

Looks good, right? It’s because it’s the best thing ever. If you like Cinnamon Rolls you will absolutely love this. I recommend warming it up a little first for optimum ooey gooey flavor.

(2) If you have twitter, post the following: “RT @HangryPants Win a FREE Sin Dawg from @KillerBreadMan @ http://bit.ly/ETQTV“ and leave a second comment here letting me you did that.

(3) Become a friend of Dave’s Killer Bread on Facebook and/or follow Dave’s Killer Bread on Twitter and leave a third comment here telling me you did one or both of those.

She Says: I’m Sort of a Big Hairy Deal

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Today I was asking my twitter friends for advice on picking a hair dresser. Last time I got my hair cut was in December and it’s time. But, I am really particular about hair cuts. Why you ask?

image

You didn’t know I was a famous hair model in my youth did you? You probably think I took that last week, but I was really about 12.

It’s not the cut that makes me nervous, but the highlights. I am actually really laid back about getting different cuts on a whim and have cut  about 10 inches off twice. In law school, however, my hair started getting darker and curlier. Now I have a tremendous amount of grey hair for a 29-year old and highlight it, but highlights on red hair can go terribly terribly wrong, so I get nervous going somewhere new. But it’s been over 6 months and this needs to be done. So, I followed fellow tweeter juliannem‘s advice and used yelp.

These are the current contenders.

If you’ve been to any of these places, please let me know and if you know of any good places in the Montclair, N.J. area let me know as well!

Back to the good eats of the day. I warmed up some of my frozen Sin Dawg and oh my god it’s the best thing ever. It’s like a cinnamon roll, but in wonderful, seedy wheat bread. I can’t even take it.

It’s ooey gooey deliciousness and it’s coming through your computer to you!!!!

For dinner, I made Pasta Fagioli just like my mom, but with a spinach kick. Pasta Fagioli is actually a soup, but I’ve always had it thicker.

Here is my mom’s with kidney beans + chickpeas.

And my version.

It’s super easy to make and makes even better leftovers. I just made my basic quick tomato sauce, plus some extra fresh basil then I added about 2 cups of Kidney Beans and 2 cups of Cannellini Beans.  At the last second I decided to up the green quotient and added a package of frozen spinach.

And if you didn’t already, please comment on my Blog it Forward Post. I am trying to get ShopRite to donate more cereal for every comment, so keep it coming!!!!!!
