She Says: It’s All Good

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Happy Monday Night! First, I just want to say how proud I am of Caitlin. Did you see her T.V. interview about Operation Beautiful? I think it’s just fabulous. :D   I would say I can’t believe how the project has taken off, but I’m not surprised one bit. I’ve worked with Caitlin planning the Summit for several months now and know how hard working and dedicated she is to things she is passionate about! Anyway, the message is good, the person is good, it’s all so good!

I had the best sandwich for lunch today! It was Dave’s Killer Bread with roasted eggplant, spinach and hummus. Oh it was just fabulous! I hope to replicate it soon. Next time I would peel the eggplant though because it was a little tough to get through.

After lunch I headed to the gym, but it closed early because they are still celebrating the 4th of July. Yipee America. I went to the grocery store instead and stocked up on such things as a personal watermelon, yogurt and corn on the cob. When I got home it was cool enough outside for a nice run.

I did about 5 miles and then demolished enjoyed my personal watermelon.

Query: If a watermelon is defines as “personal,” does that make eating the whole thing appropriate?

That is a completely hypothetical question. Promise. Tomorrow is a big day everyone:

  1. Mark turns 28!!!!

  2. I go to the doctor for a check up!
  3. We make composts out of soda bottles at school!
  4. I eat more watermelon.
  5. I start Kath and Caitlin’s 10 Minute C + K Challenge.
  6. Mark hosts his first blog contest!

Good Night Bloggies!

She Says: I look like a Conehead!

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Good afternoon!

My run today was excellent! I am lucky it was a little chilly today because I was able to wear a fleece with a pocket for my iPhone (still having iPod issues).

Running Stats:

  • Miles: 11.3
  • Time: 1:39:02
  • Pace: 8.13 min/mile
  • Sharikes Eaten: 4
  • Sharkies Dropped on the Ground: 1

The best part of running with an iPhone is taking pictures.

I like to take pictures of purple and yellow houses because I want one! Isn’t this one pretty?

And one of me running. I look like a Conehead!

When I got home I laid on the ground for a good two minutes, then stretched and had lunch.

I had a wrap with Roasted Red Pepper Hummus and Spinach with some cheese and yogurt, strawberries and blackberries.

IMG_6524The most fun part of the day thus far was making strawberry yogurt sandwiches.

The questions you are asking are so fun! I am going to answer some now and some later. Keep ‘em coming!

bobbi Says: “that bowl is soo cute, and those banana oats are my fave! I have a question for M and You, what is your favorite active thing to do together, does Mark run?”

Mark has a strict policy of only running when chased. We like to walk a lot, like for hours at a time. It’s something we both like doing and it goes by so quickly when we are talking. We also both like to ride bikes. He does it alone right now because I don’t have my own bike, but maybe I will get one soon. Or perhaps a bicycle built for two. Just kidding. Another thing we can both do is play Frisbee, which is lots of fun, but I stink. We also have a bocce ball set, which is fun to play. Mark has also gone to yoga with me twice. Other than that, we are pretty separate in the workout department. I would like to go to the gym with Mark, but he likes to go to the gym alone and I’ve recently learned not to take it personally.

Amanda Says: “Have a great run!! Since you went to Villanova and know the area, what are your favorite spots (both foodie and non) to hang out, eat, drink, etc. in and around Philly?”

Well Amanda when I was in college I was not into food at all and couldn’t cook a thing, but I did love this one restaurant in Ardmore called Fellini’s (it’s still my favorite place there!) and I love Peace A Pizza, which I still go to for a slice whenever I am in the area. If you go check out the one on Lancaster Ave with the Hope’s Cookies inside – the cookies and shakes are fantastic! I also used to eat BLT Shorties from WaWa a lot! A couple of my favorite Philly restaurants are Alma de Cuba – fun to go to for drinks, but also good food and Buddakan. I wish I explored more of the Philly food scene when I was there. On the non-food front, a trip to King of Prussia was always fun, but I didn’t have a car until law school so it wasn’t that often that we could go. Whenever we went we ate at Fridays and got frozen yogurt at TCBY! Sometimes we would go into Philly. I loved going to the Constitution Center and to South Street. I also love Main Street in Manayunk! It’s fun to walk around and home to my first yoga studio, Yoga on Main.

P.S. If you’d like to win some salsa, which I would, check out Julie’s giveaway!
