She Says: Mojaly Wonderful

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

Hi Everyone! It’s such a nice day. I know lots of people are missing the summer heat, but not me at all! I love the breezy less than scalding weather. :D Who wants to drip sweat anyway?

When I woke up I had my breakfast that I prepared last night: Stonyfield Plain Vanilla Yogurt  + overnight muesli. It was a special treat because it involved my new Hangry Pants Summer Mix Muesli from MojaMix, a create your own cereal website. I’ve been a lucky lady with trying these new customized cereal and granola companies. I’ve tried Mix My Granola, Me & Goji and now Moja Mix.

I chose to make muesli because of its versatility as it can be eaten hot or cold. Also, if you have a cereal eating problem (as in cannot stop at one bowl), muesli helps out a lot.  You can see the nutritional information as you build your cereal and they have unique and interesting cereal ingredients like goldenberries, raw cacao nibs and pine nuts. My only complaint is that compared to the other brands I mentioned, this bag was a little lacking in the quantity of the add-ins: the ratio of oats to dried fruit and seeds is a little low. Despite that, my personal combination of fruits and seeds is delicious!

  • Rolled Oats
  • Figs
  • Pears
  • Quinoa Flakes
  • Kamut Flakes
  • Fuyu Persimmons
  • Hemp Seeds
  • Chia Seeds

It was delicious! I love doing overnight muesli because it thickens yogurt right up and I just I loved the combination of fruits I picked, especially the seedy figs and pears.

I also had a special Chocolate Iced Coffee. I added some Chocolate HempShake I received from Nutiva.

It would probably blend better if I had an actual blender, but I just added the powder and mixed with a spoon. It provided a nice little chocolate twist to my iced coffee.

After all this I went to the gym and watched Ruby while ellipticizing. I came home and did my C + K 10 Minute Challenge and took on the monster chore of cleaning my bedroom closet. I think I write about doing that a lot and it’s because I HATE IT! I actually hate all chores.

She Says: Believe the Hype

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

Good morning everyone!

For your reading pleasure, I created a new Favorite Posts Page for new readers to catch up and learn more about Hangry Pants and for old readers to be reminded of our awesomeness. I also updated my Recipes, and guess what? I bake a lot. And if you need a little live Hangry action, check out the Videos page.

Alright, now I am still having server issues, so I apologize for that. Mark has explained what is going on several times. My anology is that it’s like Hangry Pants is on Lost. Right now it’s in the past and in the present. Existing in two places in time means things (posts, pictures, comments, etc.) can get lost along the way. We are Mark is working on it!

Until then, please accept this picture of my breakfast from yesterday as representative of both today and yesterday. In the bowl is:

  • Plain Yogurt
  • Greek Yogurt (plain)
  • 1 T peanut butter
  • 1/4 C Oats
  • Flax

All of that was left overnight in the fridge and then in the morning I topped it with some cereal. It’s completely delicious and filling!

So, as I alluded to yesterday I got a Veggie Girl package ….

First, let’s establish that she is pretty much a professional baked goods shipper.

Second, let’s establish that Veggie Girl is really an awesome baker. Stare in awe at Banana Caramel Bread.

Some things that do not translate via pictures. First, this loaf is gigantic and extremely moist!  Seocond, it might look like ordinary Banana Bread, but it is hands down the BEST I’ve ever had.

I give it five stars!

It’s based on a recipe from Veganomicon. You can see a similar loaf with Veggie Girl’s recipe here.  It is so moist and delicious. It is perfectly cooked all the way through. The hints of caramel in there are awesome! I love it and vow to only make Veganomicon Bananan Bread from now until forever!

We had it for dinner last night. Mark has eaten half the loaf. I’ve eaten what can only be considered an embarassing amount.  Mark had it again with peanut butter for breakfast. Thank you so much Liz!

In other news, I am going to my first Mets game tonight!

I am neither friend nor foe of the Met’s, but they have a new stadium and we’re going with lots of friends, so it should be fun! What is your favorite thing to eat at a baseball game?
