Much More Pooh Like

Yesterday I said I was feeling a bit like Eeyore, but today was much more of a Pooh day. Mark left for Austin to go to South by Southwest so we spent the day driving around getting things for his trip. Mark might be more meticulous about cleaning things than me, but I am a better planner. I could not imagine driving around buying socks, underwear, toothpaste, Dep. Gel, etc. hours before my flight!

Anyway, it was a fun afternoon of errands. Here is Mark driving around eating a while California Pizza Kitchen pizza and singing Fleetwood Mac. We hit up Target. Mark tried on Tiny Ts and jackets. It was rad.

For breakfast, I had a plain Chobani Greek Yogurt with my Hangry Heather’s Muesli Mix w/ flax that I added and the last bit of my Raw Pineapple Almond Bar. I realized today that the muesli is supposed to contain almonds, but I haven’t found any. What’s up with that MixMyGranola?

For a snack today I had a bag of dried mangoes from Peeled. Man, their dried fruits are good!

I went to the gym to do my tempo run after work. After thinking about what I wrote yesterday I went in with a plan, which I executed perfectly. Here’s what went down:

  • 1 mile at 6.5 mph (9.14 pace)
  • 2.5 miles at 6.7 mph (8.57 pace)
  • .25 mile at 6.8 mph (8.49 pace)
  • .25 mile at 6.9 mph (8.42 pace)
  • 2 miles at 7 mph (8.34) pace)

Total: 6 miles 53:10

Then I ran until 60 minutes was up at a 10-minute mile pace (6.0 mph)

When I got home I wasn’t that hungry, but knew just what I wanted for dinner. Just like Brittany, I often use treadmill time to plan my next meal.

I had a big salad with lots of veggies and garbanzo beans and a Dr. Prager’s Veggie Burger topped w/ 2 egg whites, corn, lima beans, and Country Bob’s I won from Mel.

I ate it as a sandwich on my last two pieces of homemade bread from a recent bread-baking binge.

A couple of notes about the Lexen Healthy Juicer Giveaway, which you can enter here:

  • It’s for U.S. residents only, which is something we initially failed to include in the rules. Therefore, if we pull a number for an international participant, we’ll send that person a different fun prize to be negotiated with said winner.
  • Mark said it’s easy to clean. I would say that’s true except for the little net that separates the juice.
  • The juice produced is really good, but it does take a good 20 minutes to set up and make.
  • Kelly asked, “When the pulp comes out is it pretty dry or still moist?” The pulp that comes out like meat is pretty dry. The excess that separates from the juice is like a foam.
  • If you have any questions about the juicer, ask us. Mark is sort of obsessed with it and will be happy to answer.
